Caroline Brookfield, DVM

Hi, I’m Dr. Caroline! I bring a wide range of experience and a creative perspective to the Banded Peak Veterinary Clinic team. Since graduating with honours from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997, my career has taken me all over the world.

I practised in Florida early on, then spent 18 months travelling and volunteering internationally before settling in Calgary in 2000. My background spans emergency and small animal medicine, zoo and wildlife care, pet nutrition, research, and conservation medicine.

Outside the clinic, I’ve worked as a communications coach and instructor at the University of Calgary, served on several professional boards, written a book called The Reluctant Creative, and occasionally perform stand-up comedy.

Whether I’m working through a complex medical case or helping someone navigate a tough diagnosis, I believe that listening well and thinking creatively usually lead to better solutions.

At home, I’m kept busy by my 13-year-old rescue dog, Yoshi-Bella, and my two cockatiels, Fresca and Thunder. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members!
